Oh, you brought a bible to the party, she said.
I looked at my hand in surprise.
"I think I could go back, I think I could believe again."

She stood in her shower, washing a giant crystal salad bowl.
"My father believed sex was wrong, and that angel's wings are vestigial."
I wasn't sure who she was.
"I'll catch you if you fall."
In the shower? But she was those no slip flowers-
"If you fall." eyes burning into mine.

Life continued with this stranger,
"I love you so much... like a mother loves her child."
In this house I've never seen before,
"Will you love me like the sun?"
Is this hell?
"Angels come in all shapes, my mother said."

Standing on the edge, again I wonder.
"My love, my love, you are my greatest love."
How I've come to the edge of this mountain-
"Please stay with me my love," She whispered.
Could I really be her love?

"I would catch you in my arms as you fell, dying."
Plummeting,
I actually believed it wouldn't happen.
She gazed up at me, arms wide.
From a dream. It slipped away as I awoke.
